How can your business adapt to COVID-19?

As the disease starts to spread here in New Mexico it poses a major question for business owners- “How can I help stop the spread AND help my customers?”

The health and safety of our customers and our communities are of utmost importance in these challenging times. To help answer the questions above and help your business also achieve the goal of health and wellness, we’re providing 5 steps you can take today to help manage your business during the COVID-19 outbreak.

1. Keep yourself and staff informed

Stay up to date by following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)World Health Organization (WHO) and your local government health department so you can respond quickly to changes that could affect you or your customers. Display posters and reminders for good hygiene in your business for employees and customers.

2. Keep in touch with your customers

Use platforms like your website, social media and/or email to notify your customers of changes of business hours, location closures, or simply update them on how your company is taking measures to keep them safe. 

3. Take meetings and events online

If your business frequently holds events or conferences on a daily basis, take those meetings or events online! Hold webinars or video calls to keep your business operating online.

4. Make a customer service plan

In order to be responsive and transparent with your customers during this challenging moment, prepare for incoming questions and requests. You can write up your own templates to use for quick email responses, create auto-responses, or use instant messaging like Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp to easily communicate with customers.

5. Have a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs)

With uncertainty in the community, customers will have many questions for your business. To help answer their questions and ease your workload, provide a list of questions your customers frequently ask and might ask along with the answers to those questions.

For example, here’s how a FAQ works:
Q- Can I cancel my appointment if I’m sick?
A-  Yes! If you’re sick, give us a call or send an email as soon as possible and we will reschedule your appointment.
